Uganda carrying out 'extrajudicial executions' in Kasese - Amnesty International
Amnesty International on Monday accused Uganda of carrying out extrajudicial executions as authorities in the east African country said 62 people had died in clashes between a tribal militia and security forces in a restive western region.
Presidential Pardon
The President of Kenya also signed a pardon warrant and released 102 long-term serving convicts. The reprieve for the 102 convicts came after thorough vetting by the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee. “Invoking the Power of Mercy provided for under Article 133 of the Constitution, President Kenyatta also signed a pardon warrant and released 102 long-term serving convicts whom the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee vetted,” read the statement.
