RAC to Strengthen Youth Involvement in Local Accountability in Rwenzori Region

The Rwenzori anti corruption coalition RAC with support from British high commission has launched a new project intended to strengthen youth involvement in local accountability in Rwenzori region.

The project seeks to engage more than 1016 youths and 657 RAC members regarding the monitoring and evidence based reporting as one a way to fight corruption in the region.

Speaking to our reporter,Madaam Businge Victoria from RAC,said they are going to train the youths and mentor them in regards to fighting corruption through engaging stakeholders, local leaders in accountability related meetings.

She was speaking during a one day workshop organized by Rwenzori anti corruption coalition held in Musisa hall, central division fort portal city yesterday.

The fort portal mayor Mr.Asaba Edson Ruyonga implored youth and leaders to avoid corrupt related cases if they are to realize good services in the region.

Mr.Bandeba Festus the deputy resident city commissioner fort portal city who was the chief guest applauded RAC for such project he says has come at time when corruption scandals in the country are at peak.
