Fort Portal Referral Hospital Discharge COVID 19 Patient
Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital has discharged a person that was earlier in May admitted with COVID 19.The 29years old man Ugandan Truck driver whose name we have withheld for fear of being stigmatized was admitted at the facility on 10th May after he tested COVID 19 Positive.
Speaking to our reporter at the Referral Hospital this morning, He said by the time of admission at the Facility, he was coming from Rwanda where he was first tested. He commended the health team for the love, care, counseling, support and treatment.
He states that currently he feels ok, unlike the joint pains and general body weakness he experienced shortly after admission. He assures the public that COVID 19 is real and contagious.
Dr. Alex Adaku the Hospital Director Fort Portal Referral Hospital, they have trained health workers on how to handle COVID 19 patients in case of the rapid spread. He also realizes the need for all stakeholders to ensure that health service delivery is uniform and reaches the quality it desires.
Richard Rwabuhinga the District Chairperson and member of the COVID task force commended the frontline health workers for their efforts put in treating the patient, the level of preparedness and confidence in handling the case.
