Deputy inspector general of government has attributed the increased cases of corruption in Uganda to greed for wealth and moral decadence among Ugandans.
The deputy inspector general of government Dr.Patricia Achan Okiria has attributed the increased cases of corruption in Uganda to greed for wealth and moral decadence among Ugandans.
Dr Patricia said the report they have obtained shows that the richest people are the most corrupt officials in Uganda and of which she hopes that once local, opinion, cultural and religious leaders join hands can fight against.
She was speaking yesterday during the anti corruption inter agency stake holders meeting which attracted local leaders in Rwenzori region that was held at Kalya courts in fort portal.
Madam Angela Byangwa the Rwenzori Anti Corruption coalition RAC executive director says as RAC they received a total of 846 cases this year which she says has hindered the service delivery in the region.
Byangwa however revealed that they will continue engaging youth, local leaders in monitoring as well as sensitizing masses in issues regarding proper accountability and strategies to fight corruption.
