ELECTRONIC VERIFICATION EASED VERIFICATION EXERCISE, EC.

The national voter verification exercise that started on 19th Feb. has successfully ended today and the Kabarole district returning officer Mr. Daniel Nayebare has acknowledged the use of technology in easing official duties as was seen in the voter’s verification exercise that has been going on country wide.

According to Daniel, most elites have been using their smart phones and computers to check their names directly from the commission’s website which reduced the load that was formerly put on display officers

Daniel however says that they have encountered challenges such as unfavorable weather conditions for display officers which could force them to leave, low turn up of the voters. He adds that polling stations at schools could disrupt learners’ attention as people were making noise while prayers at some churches were inconvenienced by the exercise.

Daniel called upon stake holders and voters to participate in the ten days of natural justice and go to their parishes to check for the names that have been recommended to be deleted.
