HUSBAND AND CHILDREN FIGHT OVER MOTHER’S DEAD BODY.

BY Musa Polite

police saved the situation yesterday evening after a fight block up between Mr. Mande Isaka of Magunga village in Mugusu sub county, Kabarole district and the children of the deceased mother Nasaki Goretti after the two parties failed to agree on who will take the deceased for burial.

According to the children of the deceased led by miss Kemigisa Joseline, their mother had told them before that she must be buried at her own land in Kaihokwa, east division Fort Portal Municipality while the husband Mr. Mande Isaka and his sister Beatrice Kabagenyi insisted that they should burry the deceased at the husband’s ancestral home in Mugusu.

Miss Kemigisa, the daughter to the deceased told our reporter that they were shocked after learning about the death of their mother and to come for the might, it was already taken away by the husband which prompted them to involve police because the husband and his relative had declined to release the might.

The Rwenzori West Community liaisons office Afande Solomon Mugisa says that police intervened and ordered for the return of the deceased’s body to her land in Kaihokwa because the deceased had said before dying that she must be buried at her land. Mugisa condemned the act of disturbing the dead body’s peace and called upon people to always make wills if they will reduce confusion.
