CONFUSED WITH A DEAD BODY, RESIDENTS ABANDON BURIAL OVER CORONA VIRUS

A family in Rwengoma west division Kabarole district has grieved twice after neighbors have decided to neglect them after losing their loved one on allegations that they are preventing from getting corona virus.

Matama Enid, a woman in her late 70’s succumbed to diabetes yesterday but since then, residents have declined to be cooperative with her family in fear of contracting the disease.

According to residents, Museveni directed that they should avoid attending all public gatherings and this has forced people to abandon burials.

The Rwengoma municipal councilor Mr. happy Julius says that they have done the needful as leaders to convince people to join hands for the burial. He however says that they have put up strict guidelines for those who will come for the send off.

According to Mr. happy, they have banned raising of many tents as one way of making sure that people stay at a safer distance from one another, the priest who will lead the mass have been instructed by the RDC not to take long time and they have improvised washing gears such that every mourner will wash hands before proceeding to the ceremony.

It should however be noted that much as washing gears and water were provided, the water at the burial don’t contain any detergent, which puts mourners at the risk of contracting the disease
