Ministryof Local Government to give Guidelines on Cities
With just three weeks to the Launch of Fort Portal Tourism City come 1st July, The Local Government Minister Hon. Raphael Magyezi has warned residents against electing corrupt leaders in the city come 2020 general elections.
According to Magyezi, corrupt leaders will become a problem to the city development and his ministry will not tolerate people to swindle public funds.
Magyezi calls for strengthened accountability, openness and transparency in the new cities.
Minister Magyezi also warns Fort Portal leaders against conflicts and disunity saying if his ministry finds leaders are not supportive of the city, they will forward it to the next phase.
The minister was over the weekend addressing a stakeholders meeting at Kalya Courts in Fort Portal.
