Another Makerere don succumbs to Covid-19.
Makerere University has lost another lecture to Covid-19.
Mr Godfrey Mwesige, a lecturer from the Department of Construction Management in Colleges of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology died from the viral disease yesterday at TMR hospital, Kampala.
University Vice Chancellor, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe told VOT in an interview that Mr Mwesigwa was one of the top cream at the academic institution and in the region.
He is the second lecturer to die at the university in just over five days after the university on July 1 lost Prof Noble Ephraim Banadda to Covid-19 at Case clinic, Kampala.
According to the Ministry of Health, Covid-19 has claimed 1,966 lives in Uganda with up to 56, 338 recoveries since the outbreak was confirmed in March 2020. The country has since cumulatively recorded 84, 116 Coronavirus cases with 1,099 actively admitted in hospitals across the country as of today.
