Brig. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga Instated as Commander Mountain Division

Brig. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga has been instated as the New Mountain Division Commander at a colorful function held at the division headquarters at Muhote in Fort Portal City. Kayanja replaced Brig. Gen. Moses Kwikiriza who has been transferred to Chieftaincy rehabilitation center in Mubende.

Presiding over the function, Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu the Commander Land Forces tasked the incoming Commander to work hard to maintain peace in the in Rwenzori saying as Security they see this region as threatened since it boarders Congo the hideout of the ADF.

The Outgoing Commander Brig. Gen. Kwikiriza disclosed that as UPDF, security is their role saying he is very grateful because he is leaving the region peaceful. He commended every stakeholder for the cooperation.

Meanwhile The Commander Mountain Division Brig. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga has vowed to crush all thieves and kidnappers that have been terrorizing this region within a shortest time so that people can enjoy the peace.

According to Kayanja, as UPDF they have fought the biggest enemies such as the ADF and such thieves cannot threaten the peace that the people are currently enjoying.

His remarks came after Richard Rwabuhinga the Kabarole district Chairperson reported to the Senior Commanders in the UPDF that livestock thieves, housebreaking and kidnappers are on rampage in the district hence calling for technical support from security agencies and local leaders by intensifying intelligence to solve the vice.
