The re-opening of Kabundeire main market by the west division leadership has sparked fire between second hand clothes traders and fresh vendors at the market.
According to fresh vendors, they were forced out of their stalls inside the market by the division leadership to Nyakimya swamp fresh market, hoping to come back after COVID 19 but they were surprised yesterday to see second hand clothe traders who have been selling on the floor inside the market taking over their stalls.
According to fresh vendors, they constructed the stalls with their own money, after being pressurelised to be chased away from the market and they wonder how the same leadership that forced tham to build stalls has given away the stalls to the secondhand clothes without their knowledge.
Even when the president has not opened daily markets for clothes, Second hand cloth traders say that their leaders ordered them to be using the stalls for the mean time as they sell their clothes as they plan to re-locate after COVID 19.
Richard Muhumuza, the West division chairperson however denies ordering cloth traders to take over the stalls, saying that they only directed them to put their clothes which were on the ground to protect them from being damaged.
Muhumuza says that all those selling second hand clothes inside the market must close immediately because they only opened for boutiques inside and outside the market
