Eating a Balanced Nutritious Meal can Prevent Diseases-Says Health Minister

The disease burden in this country can be prevented through eating a well-balanced nutritious diet and ensuring good sanitation and hygiene in Homes-The Health Minister has observed. Hon. Robbinah Nabbanja the State Minister for Health In charge General Duties says 75% of the diseases that people suffer are preventable and
nutrition is a key measure. He encourages people to always provide a well-balanced nutritious diet to their children for a better health. She was speaking during the Muilt-sectoral Food Security Project meeting held at Kitumba District Headquarters. The meeting was attended by members from Kiryandongo, Kabarole, Bunyangabu, Kasese and Kyenjojo Districts. Richard Rwabuhinga the District Chairperson Kabarole disclosed that the project has addressed stundendness and silent hunger among communities. He tasked the Chief Administrative Officers to include the project in the District Development Plans for sustainability. The RDC Kabarole Mr. Asiimwe Steven emphasized the need for people to prioritize agriculture as it’s the backbone of the country.
