Kabarole district as of yesterday has 42 new COVID-19 positive cases within two months and the public should not relax thinking that COVID-19 is no more, said RDC Kabarole.
According to the Kabarole Resident District Commissioner Mrs. Ayesiga Sarah Julian, the fact is that, as a district they do not have even a single dose remaining yet they are challenged by the increasing new COVID-19 positive cases in communities of Lyantonde in Rutete sub-county, Kasenda, Hakibale, and Kaswa.
She revealed that many people who are positive in these areas of Kabarole got the disease from a nearby pork joint that secretly operates a bar locking themselves inside and they have identified the place and closed them.
She added that they have strengthened the home-based care team and continued working together with VHTs to identify people in communities that have symptoms of COVID-19 and many are being managed at home based care.
She said that they are worried as the disease is rising again in this rainy season and our communities need a wakeup call to mobilize them and show them the importance of being vaccinated.
