Kabarole Has Not Registered Maternal Death in this Lockdown.

Kabarole district Health team has not registered any maternal death as a result of delays to access hospital during this COVID 19 lockdown.
On 25th March 2020, President Museveni issued directives in the Country’s determined efforts to fight the spread of COVID19 pandemic among them was banning public transport. He later allowed Ambulances, Institutional or Government vehicles subject to SOPs issued by Ministry of Health.
According to the District Chairperson Mr. Rwabuhinga Richard who is also the Secretary for Health, over 168 mothers have been picked from their homes and transported to Health facilities in this lockdown.
Rwabuhinga calls upon expectant mothers to prepare themselves when it’s still early and call the district health teams in case they don’t have means of transport to health facilities. He commends LC1s for the great work done in giving movement permits to the mothers during this lockdown.
The Chairman was speaking to LC1s in Mugusu Town Council this afternoon.
Catherine Kemigabo the District Health Educator Kabarole confirms that the health department has registered and responded to over 500 emergencies that included mothers, accident victims, patients with general diseases among others.
