Kabarole Headquarters to relocate to Busoro Sub County

With only three days to 1st July 2020, when Fort Portal Tourism City will become operational, Kabarole district Council has unanimously approved a motion to relocate the district headquarters to Busoro Sub County.

The Cities according to the Local government Act are equivalent to district hence Kabarole district administration cannot operate in their current Headquarters located in Kitumba Fort Portal.

During the Council sitting yesterday, Richard Rwabuhinga the District Chairperson said after several consultations from different sub counties, they have found that Busoro has a free hold vacant land that can accommodate the District Headquarters.

According to Rwabuhinga, in the 2020/2021 budget, the district has allocated 200million shillings to kick start the 1st phase construction of the headquarters saying they have already advertised. Kabarole district council that was having 39 councillors, will by first july have 25 since the 14 will be in the City

Councilors Joseph Mashuhuuko of Karambi, Tom Kamara of Busoro and Nyesiga Banarbus of Kasenda said once the headquarters are relocated to Busoro, it will be easily accessed.
