People have slept in Bus parks as the demand for transport is high, on the recent president’s national address on covid-19 he allowed public transport to commence but on conditions; mask compulsory, washing hands entering and out of the bus or taxi as preventive measures over covid-19.
Several Bus parks and taxi parks around Fort portal municipality have implemented the directives of the president and followed the guide lines from the ministry of health as key measures to prevent the spread of covid-19.
Today morning our reporter moved to all parks around fort portal municipality; Link Bus Company in Kiculeta the transport fee is at 45000shillings, Baby coach at Kahinju road is at 40000shillings from Fort portal to Kampala while the taxis have also added some amount of money according to the last price before covid-19 and the place where someone is going.
As a way of exercising social distance Buses have decided to take half of the capacity they have been carrying like 60 passengers now 30 passengers and taxi 14 passengers now 7 passengers as small vehicles which carry five passengers now three passengers including the drivers and conductors.
People are now celebrating and jubilating as they were stranded in different places of the world since March when the president stopped the public means of transport however 40 districts which are at the boarder lines still closed for the best of our lives in Rwenzori region are; Kasese, Rubirizi, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo.
